These terms cover unsyllabus.com and the courses sold on it. Unsyllabus is run by Jeff Schenck ("we", "us"). By buying a course or using the site, you agree to them.

Your purchase

When you buy a course, you get a personal license to watch its lessons and use its materials for your own learning and work. The license is for one person. You may not share your login, resell the course, or post the lessons or materials elsewhere.

Prices are shown in US dollars on each course page before you pay. Checkout is run by Gumroad, which acts as the seller of record and collects any sales tax. Refunds follow the refund policy.

What the courses promise

Courses teach skills and methods, and each ends with something you make yourself. We do not promise any income, earnings, job or business result from taking a course. What you get out of it depends on your own work.

Certificates

A certificate means you passed that course's final quiz and its capstone was scored against the published rubric. Certificates are issued by Unsyllabus. They are not academic credit, a degree, a license, or an accreditation from any school, government or certifying body.

Course content

Lessons, templates, videos and other materials belong to Unsyllabus and Jeff Schenck. Tool lessons show how a third-party tool worked on the date shown in the lesson; tools change, and we replace those lessons when they do. We are not affiliated with the tools we teach unless a lesson says so.

Your work

What you make in a course is yours. If you submit work for a capstone, you let us view and score it. We will not publish it without asking you first.

Fair use of the site

Do not try to break into the site, copy courses in bulk, or use the site to harm anyone. We can end access for anyone who does, without a refund.

Limits

Courses are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim about a course is limited to what you paid for it.

Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows the current version. Changes do not affect a purchase you already made.
